The most important thing to Timothy is success. Honestly, he doesn't care about gaining money, because he has more than enough to last him his entire life. What he does care about is power, prestige, the honor of knowing that he is the best, having earned such a title through hard work and perseverance. To say that he takes his schooling a bit too seriously is an understatement. Tim has, not once in his life, gotten below an A in any subject, never missed a day of school, and never arrived less than fifteen minutes early for any class. From the first moment he began school, Tim was eager to please, going above and beyond what was necessary. Being very young, this didn't mean doing very much more than the other students, but the idea applies to this day. Never satisfied with merely being average, Tim cannot stand being categorized with the vast majority of his peers. He sees himself as something separate, as someone better, but not because of his lineage, because of his dedication. Truthfully, Tim doesn't like having his family's connections and power even mentioned, or discussed.

Ever since he was a very small boy, Tim was very quiet, far more reserved than the other children his age, and unfailing polite. While other children might be prone to tantrums when they were denied what they wanted, Tim hardly protested, and was never one to make a scene in public. Even so young, he understood that such outward displays of emotion would only place you in an unfavorable light. He had his mother to thank for that, a woman with a cold demeanor and little gentleness when it came to her son. As the years progressed, Tim seemed to inherit her seemingly cold way of behaving, though in reality it was merely high reservation. Like his mother, Tim became the type of person who finds that silence is better than idle conversation, and that one can never have manners that are too impeccable. The result is a young man who seems far too formal for this common day and age, a melancholy boy who keeps his emotions safely tucked out of sight.

It is just these manners that have caused Tim to be fairly socially inept. When it comes to making friends, he simply doesn't know how to go about it. Most find him off-putting, boring and far too much of a perfectionist. This might bother other young adults, but Tim actually finds it to be a relief. If he had friends, had the obligations that society places on friends, he would have less time for his studies. Whatever small part of him longs for true friendship, the more rational portion of Tim's mind beats it into submission, locking it in a dark corner where it can't wreak havoc on Tim's carefully laid out plans.

WEIRD QUIRKS: Tim has a highly irrational fear of squirrels. No one is sure where it came from, but Tim claims that when he was six, a squirrel in the garden attacked him, quite viciously. There is, however, no evidence to this, as no one can ever remember a time when Tim was bitten, scratched, or otherwise harmed by any form of wild animal, small or large. Whenever he sees a squirrel, Tim has trouble speaking, generally has to go indoors, and makes himself look like quite the fool without ever actually mentioning anything about the squirrel in question. Almost as if it's an act of defiance toward his fear, Tim wears a very small, hardly noticeable squirrel pin on whatever he happens to be wearing. Most often, it's tucked away out of sight, sometimes even in a pocket of his pants, but if he is wearing one of his coats or jackets, it's nearly always pinned to the lapel. The inconsistent logic to where the pin gets placed only makes sense to Tim.

Tim is the only child of Francine and Matthew Carter. Both his parents come from old money, and as a result Tim has both the Willows and Carter name to give him standing in the world of the wealthy. His mother and father met when they were in their thirties, powerful in their own right, not really seeking love or companionship but finding it anyway. To everyone who knew them, it was a surprise that Francine and Matthew actually loved one another. Francine was very reserved when it came to outward shows of affection, and Matthew treated her as if she were a friend, rather than the women he planned to marry. The two seemed ill suited for one another, as Matthew was fond of laughter, enjoying adventure, while Francine was content to stay home, read a book, and rarely even smiled. Yet, the two were happy together, and married three years later, after a long engagement to ensure their feelings for one another.

Tim came a year later, though it was a difficult birth. Francine's doctor explained that it had nothing to do with her age, though she was nearing forty, and more to do with her actual anatomy. The specifics were unimportant to her, and though Tim was born via cesarean, he was otherwise a healthy baby that Francine and Matthew loved dearly. From that moment on, Tim wanted for nothing in life, though he was far from spoiled. Even though he was given everything he wanted, he didn't ask for much, and at times refused what was offered him. His parents felt this was highly well behaved of him, and had little doubt that Tim would become an exceptional man later in life. When he began school, he didn't disappoint them, as he continued to remain remarkably well behaved (whereas some of the other students were monsters) and received praise from all his teachers.

Despite all this praise, Tim was alienated from his peers. He was too well behaved, too proper and the other children didn't like him. This continued for the remainder of his time in both primary and preparatory school. By the time Tim was ready to attend college, there was really only place that his parents approved of his going, no matter what other ivy league schools he'd been accepted to. Tim's father attended Ainsworth, as did several of his uncles and aunts. Preceding Tim at the Academy are several of Tim's cousins, and with so many of the Carter lineage having matriculated at Ainsworth, it seemed only proper that Tim do the same. So far, he's found the Academy very pleasing and remains one of the top of his class.

- Nickname within Omega Tau is Dumas, as that is his favorite author, who he reads only in French.
- Oddly, his favorite children's book is The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, by Beatrix Potter. The book was his favorite before the unfortunate "mauling" by the real-life squirrel, and Tim has staunchly refused to give up the book as his favorite. It's only live squirrels that terrify him.
- Is fluently trilingual. English is his native tongue, but he learned French by the time he was seven (the result of a favored French aunt) and began studying German when he was fourteen.
- The only meat he eats is poultry, specifically turkey, and (although he doesn't actually consider shellfish to be meat) fruits de mer. It has nothing to do with a distaste for eating meat in general, but rather that red meat doesn't sit as well in his stomach as white meat, or so he thinks.
- Is of the mindset that women, and teenagers, who dress provocatively are, to put it delicately, indecent women who have loose morals. Someone else his age might use the term "whore," but Tim has never used the word in his life.
- Has a cousin in Sigma Phi Epsilon, and seriously contemplated joining the fraternity, but was talked out of it by said cousin who didn't want to be socially connected with Tim.
- Is a virgin, has never been kissed, though he did hold a girl's hand once when he was thirteen. He found it awkward and unsettling, vowing to never repeat the performance.
- Currently has a mild infatuation with a girl in Delta Psi Nu, despite his finding the sorority (and it's members) to be misguidedly lazy in their ambitions. They share several classes, but he has never actually spoken with her. It's entirely possible that she has no idea who he is. If he didn't feel it was a waste of time to find out, he'd probably seek her out and try (likely unsuccessfully) talking with her.
- His father is CEO of an oil company and on the board of directors for a weapons company that supplies for the military.
